Battersea Ontario

Battersea is located about 15 km from Kingston, on Battersea Road (Montreal St.)

A Brief History of Battersea
Henry Van Luven, a veteran of the Battle of Lundyís Lane, was the founder of the village of Battersea in 1840. It was originally called Rockland, then changed to Van Luvenís Mills. The large Van Luven family home is on a rise at the entrance to what is now Battersea and in 1912 the home was converted into a fishing lodge, now called the Holiday Manor Lodge. Battersea currently has a population of around 300.
